Wabaseemoong

Boozhoo! Aanii! Tansi! In October 2010, Graphic Novel Artist Chad Solomon held art workshops for Club Amick readers attending Wabaseemoong School in Wabaseemoong Independent First Nation, Ontario. Accompanied by life-size puppets, Bearpaws, Rabbit and Strawberry, Chad spent the day showing readers how to draw from their own community history to create stories. Readers had a great time sharing ideas and seeing them come to life on paper. There were plenty of questions for Chad about art and even some about how one becomes a puppeteer! The day ended with prizes and warm good-byes. Chi-Miigwech to staff and parents for helping to make this event happen!
