Traveling Art Workshops

Boozhoo! Aanii! Tansi! Hello!, Club Amick Readers. Last year, Club Amick ran a Win-An-Artist contest. Club Amick Readers were asked to choose a Club Amick book and produce a written and visual review of the selected book. The three winning schools received a visit and art workshop from Anishinaabe Graphic Novel artist, Chad Solomon. Chad is the creator of “Adventures of Rabbit and Bear Paws” a comic series set in the 1750’s that features the hilarious antics of two brothers, Rabbit and Bear Paws.

Since running the contest, several Club Amick readers have contacted E.T. the Librarian asking if Chad can visit their communities. In response to our readers, we have decided to incorporate the art workshop for the 2009-2010 school years, as one of the initiatives of the Club Amick programming for Readers. Because of the high volume of interest, a waiting list has been created and communities will be selected on a first-come-first served basis. The number of communities selected is yet to be determined. If you are interested in a potential visit from Chad Solomon, please be sure to send an e-mail stating your interest to E.T. the Librarian at .
